President's Report

Hello NACE Members,

In case you haven't noticed.....Silicon Valley NACE is moving at record speed.

You ask "What does that mean?" – It means we're offering great programming and networking opportunities that are driving our membership growth.  If you haven’t checked us out in a long time please register for our next meeting.  In June we are going to focus on a healthier you with a mini health fair and program for  "Stress Busting Tips for the Busy Pro".

Here are the stats for the past 3 months for our Spring Membership Drive.
~17 new members joined during March, April and May.
~15 new members joined during the Spring Drive.

We are so excited to have all the new members who joined our organization during the Spring membership Campaign. Below are a few of the reasons why being a NACE Member is so great!

THE TOP 10 REASONS THAT NACE BENEFITS YOU AS A MEMBER

1. AT EVERY MEETING, SIT OR TALK WITH A NEW MEMBER!  It takes time to make great connections - give it one year and you will be amazed at the relationships you make, and the business you will receive.

2. VOLUNTEER FOR A COMMITTEE OR BOARD POSITION FOR A ONE YEAR TERM! Your fellow committee members will get to know you better. Their gained trust in you will ultimately lead to business opportunities.

3. AS AN AFFILIATE MEMBER EXPECT TO BUILD A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CATERERS FOR YOUR FIRST YEAR. After building that relationship and showing your commitment to their success as well as yours, business will follow.

4. THANK MEMBERS FOR THEIR BUSINESS PUBLICLY AT THE MEETING SO OTHERS CAN HEAR YOU! This will help them, and gain respect for you.

5. CERTIFICATION: In addition to the training and educational opportunities available at the chapter and national levels, NACE members may demonstrate their commitment to professionalism and integrity by earning the designation and of Certified Professional Catering Executive (CPCE). NACE members who achieve CPCE status represent the best in the catering profession. Details about CPCE criteria, study materials, test dates and locations, and exam fees are available from NACE national headquarters at http://www.nace.net/cs/education/cpce .

6. ALWAYS CALL NACE MEMBERS FIRST TO DO BUSINESS WITH - it will come back to you in business, as well.

7. SHOW UP TO MEETINGS, INTERACT AND SHOW PEOPLE THAT YOU ARE COMMITTED TO BEING PART OF THE CHAPTER.

8. ASK MEMBERS QUESTIONS ABOUT THEIR BUSINESS AT MEETINGS. People love to talk about their business. You will learn about them, and a relationship based on respect will grow.

9. SUPPORT MEMBERS BY USING THEIR PRODUCT WHENEVER POSSIBLE, (and suggest other NACE members' products to your clients!)

10. EXPLORE NEW OPPORTUNITIES BY ATTENDING  THE NATIONAL NACE CONFERENCE IN AUSTIN, TEXAS (.Register at http://www.nace.net/cs/events )
