| Hello NACE Chapter Members & Potential Members,
We had a fabulous meeting at the St Claire Hotel and thank you for attending! I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dina Ardizzone and her team for hosting us! We enjoyed the Atrium Room and the Italian Villa theme designed by our Event Professional, Miranda Meisenbach, PWC with Divine Affairs Event Design and Rita Daniels with Special Occasion Specialist. While meeting new faces and enjoying the live sound of guitarist, Shane Cammell, it was simply wonderful.
Our speaker Alice Southwell, Professor and Mentor at SJSU Hospitality Classes, was extremely informative sharing her knowledge with us on how to interview and hire Interns in the workplace.
Did you know that Silicon valley NACE now has a student chapter at SJSU? Alice Southwell is the faculty advisor for the student Chapter.
In the spirit of education and supporting our student membership, Susan Kelly, our Director of Community Service, will be collecting donations to support the NACE Foundation Scholarship and possibly start our own Silicon Valley NACE scholarship. Please remember to bring cash or your check book to each meeting to support this very worthy cause!
Ruby Frandsen, our fundraising chair, had awesome raffle prizes and we appreciate Jordan River Productions for donating a $250.00 valued prize.
Robbie Schlosser, our communications chair, gave a brief and informative run down on Silicon Valley NACE’s Facebook Page and Facebook Group! Thank you Robbie
Next month’s meeting will be on Wednesday, May 16th, at the newly renovated Hyatt Place San Jose, formally known as the Crowne Plaza San Jose. We invite you to attend and see how the hotel was transformed and in addition, meet Therese Morales the Catering Manager.
