Starting in February, Silicon Valley NACE began using a new format for announcing our meetings and registering our guests.  The procedure is new, but you'll still receive the same great benefits from your NACE membership.

If you haven't yet signed up for this meeting, please click the "Register Now" button.  Please RSVP by noon on Friday, April 16.  After then, a $10 late fee will be added.  If you encounter any problems registering, please call Natti at 408-799-4347.

Join us for a dynamic evening with your colleagues in Silicon Valley's hospitality industry.  Each meeting is an opportunity for sharing ideas and advice about catering and managing special events.  Bring spouses, friends, and colleagues.  You'll enjoy three hours of great networking, an outstanding dinner, an educational program about power and lighting safety at special events, an affiliate presentation, a member testimonial, and outstanding raffle prizes.

PROGRAM: Have you ever tripped a circuit breaker and wonder why it happened?  Have you picked up an extension cord at the end of the night and noticed it was warm?  Do you know what a GFCI is? Do you know how to check if a piece of fabric is flammable?  Natti Pierce-Thomson, of North American Theatre Technology Inc, will answer these questions and many more about what we need to know about electrical and fire safety for events.  Natti's program "OMG! My Cake is on Fire!" will include humorous video inspired by actual events and live demonstrations of the proper use of extensions cords, flame retardant for fabrics, and the latest in LED lighting technology.  This program is highly recommended for Event Planners, Banquet Captains, and of course, anybody that plugs in an extension cord.

COMMUNITY SERVICE: We support a different community non-profit at each meeting.  For this meeting, please bring your new or gently worn evening wear & gowns. We will donate them to The Princess Project Silicon Valley, which has been dressing and accessorizing financially challenged girls, for their high school proms, since 2006. The Board of Directors would like to know the community organizations that YOU, our members, want to support. Please let any board member know of your community service idea.
